Appeal for Families of Sikhs Massacred in Kashmir
The whole world watched in disbelief the extremists' mischief of
" Carnage in Kashmir". 36 Sikh Brothers were killed in a
massacre under a disguise of military search at night. This bloody
act was timed during the President Clinton's tour of Bharat ,
Bangladesh & Pakistan. We feel the pain of the family members
whose husbands, fathers, brothers, uncles and sons were killed.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America has established a family support
fund for the victims. Widows & children will be helped from
this fund. We appeal to the public at large to show their
compassion for the innocent victims of this brutal act of
barbarism. After the loss of a loved one and the main breadwinner
of the family, these women and children are put into dire straits.
Although we cannot undo the brutality of the terrorists, we can
help assuage the tragedy by relieving some of their financial
pressures. This fund will help to provide food and shelter for the
families of the victims and to support the education of their
children.
As with all cases of human tragedy, VHPA will disburse 100% of the
funds received for this cause to the intended recipients through
Non Governmental Organizations working in the local area. VHP of
America Inc. is an approved United Way Agency in the states of CT,
NJ, and NY. Hindus in these states can designate VHP of America to
receive matching funds from employers when they contribute to the
United Way at work. To find out more about VHP of America and our
