" O KHALSA BRETHREN …"
by: J.Kathe , Editorial 7/22/00
Because of our spineless central government,
India that is Bharat is in mortal danger of going to pieces. Hot
on heels of the Muslim demand for Kashmir’s autonomy unfurls the
Sikh banner of Khalsa seperatism . The brave band of warriors
which Guru Govindsingh created to protect Hindu culture has today
forgotten it’s own history and identity .They have furthermore
strayed away from the very cradle that sired them and the
mother’s bosom that nourished them……The insults inflicted on
them by some self-serving political parties is no reason why they
should start thinking of themselves as a people distinct from
Hindus as a whole.
Indeed is it not true that the very Granth Sahib contains
verses drawn from maharashtrian saints as well as the Vedas ? Do
the Sikhs really hope to escape this legacy by striving for
autonomy ?Some of their more extremist brethren have already tried
their hand at militancy .Thus the very sword that was created to
protect our culture, ironically struck against it .O Sikhs, if you
have a grievance against the sham politics governing you, so do we
!Don’t however construe this to imply that every such
disaffected citizen owes a duty to break away from the motherland
.Instead, if you feel the need for an autonomous Sikh state, try
quelling it by overthrowing this corruption-ridden political
system itself ! By doing so try to establish a new social order in
Hindustan itself- based on the ancient Hindu Dharma which your
Gurus so revered .All Hindus would eagerly go along with you .
Remember O Sikhs for all eternity that Sikhism is no different
than the ancient Hindu Sanatan religion .Read the Granth Sahib
carefully to understand this truth.
Thus the Sanatani Hindus have nothing to fear from such an
action by you, wherein as I said you try to overthrow the very
political establishment itself .After all, Sikhism is not Islam
which orders the destruction of our Sanatan heritage – indeed
Sikhism orders the very protection of it .Thus o Sikhs, you are
indeed all Hindus, and all Hindus you!
How absurd then , is the idea of a separate
Sikh homeland ?
Indeed Veer Savarkar who was revered by your very grand-parents
had a similar message while addressing a maharashtrian audience in
Pune, circa 1961.He exorted the marathas to keep a vigilant eye on
the regimes governing his beloved motherland ;to look after her
welfare ! He exorted them to strike dead any subversive or corrupt
forces that may crop up in future years – this same advise holds
true for you too , o sons of the Khalsa !!
Rise and prove yourself worthy of the noble line of Gurus who
established and strengthened Sikhism ; and only by protecting
Hindustan and it’s culture can this be done .You sadden the
souls of Banda Bahadur and the lion-hearted Guru Govindsingh by
revolting against their dear nation – for those great souls
lived and died and fought for the whole of Hindustan and not just
for their native provinces .O sons of the sword , those great
souls still watch you – donot shatter their faith and their
dream of a strong edifice of Hindu culture – Hindustan : a land
of Sikhs and Buddhists , of Jains and Sanatanis, of polytheists
and monotheists, of lingayats and atheists – in short , a land
of Hindus !!!!
