Going by the news emerging out of
the bleeding Valley , it seems like there isn't going to be
respite in the near future unless something radical happens and
the vision of the State returning in it's entirety to the Indian
embrace remains but a distant dream. It is remarkable that
Geelani's house was flush with money and the "Times of
India" reported that according to an estimating agency his
monthly household expenses were more than a lakh rupees which was
hugely at odds with his known sources of income - a clear case of
economic offences and black money flowing amok ! Kashmiri
militancy is surely making a lot of money for a lot of people. The
gun-manufacturers have a ready market netas like Geelani have a
ready pan-Islamic "Cause" which is nothing but a
lucrative business for them ; why, it might be that our own
dhoti-clad netas are hands- in- glove with the set
"establishment" in the state - which incidentally is
also the most pampered state in the country-receiving kickbacks
and slush funds for the great though cruel drama that is militancy
in Kashmir. The army has been forced to make a fool of itself,
thanks to the orders of bosses squatting in New Delhi .Two
generations of Indian soldiers have made their way first into the
infantry and then to the bloody barracks near the LoC - and yet we
haven't yet found a satisfactory solution to the Kashmir mess-up !
And, the only satisfactory solution is the dissolution of the
damned LoC and this dissolution demands blood as the solvent - not
empty table talks in Simla and other hill-retreats .
The concept of bilateral talks
between India and Pakistan is pure hogwash meant to keep the
rotten Kashmiri affairs as they are, that the top-level people involved
would go on filling their coffers while our soldiers continue to
die their bloody deaths - pawns that they are in the grand game of
chess that is sub continental politics !
