Bloody Kashmiriyat........
In it's editorials and write-ups on the Kashmir problem, the
"Times of India" has often lamented about the slaughter
of "Kashmiriyat" at the hands of mercenaries. Now what
exactly is the definition of this strange term, I'm not sure but
one thing is certain - the pseudo-secular media is doing it's
utmost to divorce Islam in Kashmir from that in the rest of the
world; for, it says that Kashmiri Muslims respect diversity in
cultures and are tolerant towards the Hindus in the Valley and
that precisely is the essence of their "Kashmiriyat".
The problem however is, if they were all that tolerant and
big-hearted, why all this huge blood-shed and unrest in the first
place ? Surely, it would have been impossible for Pakistan to
continue it's reign of terror in the Valley without active support
from the Muslims in that state ... Maybe today they do say as is
brought out by the Mori report, that they prefer India to Pakistan
but who is to say this opinion isn't based solely on economic and
other different considerations ? There always was and still is a
huge importance attached to the concept of autonomy and finally
independence from India by all Kashmiri Muslims - is it for
nothing that a supposedly pro-Indian Abdullah finds it necessary
to espouse the cause of autonomy and freedom to win votes ?
Kashmiri Muslims because they have a numerical superiority in that
state were never and still aren't loyal to India at all. No state
or province which has a Muslim majority ever remains loyal to the
parent nation - be it Bosnia or Chechnya or Kashmir or Sin kiang
! All Muslims are bound by common vows of pan-Islamic brotherhood.
They refuse to recognize "infidel" governments and at
best can only manage a pretense of it. The immediate short term
solution for the Kashmir problem is to let the military take over
it's administration.
That our leadership is too spineless to do so is just our
misfortune......
